It’s been a busy season for the BBIA Government Affairs & PAC Committee!

The committee is working toward a $5,000 Build PAC fundraising goal ahead of Fall Conference in November, while continuing to create opportunities for members to stay informed and engaged on issues impacting our industry.

Members also attended a Panama City Commission meeting where the implementation of transportation impact fees was discussed. The effective date was pushed from October 1, 2026, to January 31, 2027.

Looking ahead, BBIA’s General Candidate Forum is set for October 6 at Captain Anderson’s, with candidates from the Panama City Beach Council, Callaway Commission, Florida House District 6, and Florida’s 2nd Congressional District invited to participate.

And there’s more on the calendar: BBIA and the Central Panhandle Association of REALTORS are joining forces again for a Government Affairs Lunch & Learn on October 26, featuring Lynn Haven City Manager Chris Lightfoot and Lynn Haven CRA Director Ben Janke. Registration is open.
