Bringing Young Professionals Together for Our Community

From the Chair, Chad Overby.
On Monday, September 28, BBIA Young Professionals had the opportunity to partner with the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals and Bay Young Professionals for YP Political Pulse, bringing three local young professional groups together with one shared goal: helping our community become more informed voters.
The event gave attendees an opportunity to hear directly from participating candidates ahead of the November election and learn more about their perspectives on issues affecting our community. I was proud to see our young professional organizations work together to create a free event that encouraged civic engagement and gave people another opportunity to become informed before heading to the polls.
An event like this also takes a lot of people working behind the scenes. Thank you to Neves Media, WMBB News 13, Josie On-The-Go and iHeartMedia Panama City for their media support; Granny Cantrell’s and History Class Brewing Company for providing snacks; Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. for the soft drinks; and Mosey’s Downtown for providing the bar. And, of course, thank you to the candidates who participated and everyone who joined us at the Panama City Center for the Arts.
For me, one of the best parts of BBIA Young Professionals is creating opportunities for our members to connect—not only with each other and our industry, but with the community around us. Political Pulse was a great example of what can happen when our local young professional organizations come together.
